good luck with anyone suing the Federal Government in Federal Court. The courts are there to preserve the status go and I predict will do nothing to turn any power ever over to a state.
Impressive situation. I'm having some difficulty with this question.
"If states are due taxes for lands used by the federal government, by what constitutionally enumerated power are they deprived of rents and royalties, or grazing and recreation rights to local citizens, and how does that further the government’s stated goal of creating a “basis equitable to both the Federal and local taxpayer”?
So if I deconstruct the sentence, you are asking, by what specific law/rule/reg, does the federal government owe the state for past usage of lands in the form of rents and /or royalties and what current and future rights do the citizens of Utah have in regards to graze and recreate on said land. Is that correct?
God speed this case. It would be a game changer.
Go Utah!!! 💪
I reported on a Treaty between Canada and the US that has massive ramifications on possible expropriation.

The second half, honestly I don't understand.
I hope to God Utah will win this case because if they don't what's next? Conservation land? Land use? State parks? What can't they gobble up?
