Don't forget to include the pollution resulting from the billions of dollars worth of Chinese imports other than renewables that creates the huge trade deficit we have with them. That's how we reduce our own GHGs - move it offshore.

...there are not enough physical resources on the planet to replace existing energy technologies with renewable alternatives." That hard fact needs to be said over and over to break the starry eyed faith in tech and progress (and in our beneficent politicians and billionaires) that's behind every harebrained proposal that promises to address climate change. The GM corn ethanol racket needs to be dismantled and eliminated. Like 15+ years ago.

How can they be so blind to something so obvious?..... Are they THAT stupid? Yes, they clearly are. They want to have their cake and eat it too -- and flatscreen TVs, cellphones, uner-delivered food, etc. These elites are more out of touch than Marie Antoinette.

It all comes back to faith in tech and progress. Our modern lives are so grand, we're in control and handling things so well, we just need more tech™, more progress™, and we'll beat this thing! Right? Right?!

Exactly. It is a techno-mystical cult, ignoring that all the supposed "existential" threats have arisen from exactly that blind hubris.....

All that one has to do, is look to look overhead and observe all those white lines that blossom into milky skies, not the skies that we experienced as children and definitely not natural clouds. Is is climate change or climate engineering to profit the few? Think about it, if one has the ability to control the weather, one has the ability to control commodity prices by controlling precipitation. In addition, it is ammunition to cry the climate is changing, it is humanity's fault! I often observe the lines, the milky skies, and then 48 hours later the weather forecast is rain or snow. Until we allow nature to balance, we cannot ascertain what is going on with the climate.

Great piece, John.

A further piece could be written about climate discussion in a theological context. The climate discussion frequently elevates man and minimizes, if not completely ignores, the Creator God. I have begun to say to friends and family that, "I worship the God of climate change and not the god, Climate Change." Sadly, the oral narrative doesn't work as well as the written word. I will leave that task to wordsmiths with greater gifts.

A similar biblical counseling adage is "We must worship the perfect God, not the God of perfection." The Pope is "coming out" as a religious climate czar, and it is terrifying. The climate cult is exactly that -- is has its priests, scapegoats, mystical beliefs, and works-based indulgences. We must stand in truth and love against such folly.

“There is astronomical money to be made in manufacturing government-subsidized, government-mandated products, whether those products are solar panels or EVs.” Or the COVID jab!

Great piece (as usual!)

I sometimes like to open up youtube in an incognito tab to take the pulse of popular culture. This morning, I saw a story about how people don't want EVs anymore. Now this could absolutely be a giant psyop, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.

I look forward to your common sense posts.

On interstate 5 in California, there are faded billboards posted on dry farmland begging for water. Interestingly, the Resnicks who own almond orchards don't seem to suffer this same predicament. https://www.watercalculator.org/news/articles/wonderful-nuts-water-farmer/

A friend was looking at semi-rural property in the Central Coast. The real agent casually mentioned how a local aquifer was nearly dry. They had thought it was last years and years, but alas, its demise might be linked to all the vineyards in the area. I love California wines, and while they can nourish the soul with a friend, they do not provide sustenance. But that is where we are at in CA.
