Always thought the cure to the feral pigs was a bounty system. Nothing like some good old boys with lots of aiming juice some AR 15’s and the state paying them $100 per head to put a massive dent into the feral pig population. I knew they are smart and intelligent (the pigs) not the good old boys. Humans have shown the ability to destroy a species if we want too.

Good old boys have more common sense than is often credited.... :)

Poisons set out in nature have many unintended consequences- and death by poison, well, we are gaining alot of experience about how that works, aren't we?

Interesting story. I've watched, out of sheer boredom, a program on non-cable tv, feral pigs being hunted. They are very difficult to find and kill. Of course, nothing preventive is ever done in this country because we need any and every problem to be completely out of control before it is dealt with, like alligators, crocodiles and pythons in Florida.

I say kill them all, the sooner the better.

They are EXTREMELY resilient and thus difficult to eradicate. More hunting, less suburbia.... :)

Yes, I am a huge fan of Better, Not Bigger Vermont. Burlington is an over-populated nightmare. Still, the mayor can't say enough, everyone is welcome here. No they are not.

They are destroying the city and state, and to admit that would leave them empty-handed and accountable. That is the last thing they want, so we will all starve as a consequence.

I don't know if I would go so far as to say the city is destroyed but, it is definitely not the wonderful city it once was.

I'm becoming a fan of Democracy Creative/Terry Bouricius, they promote the idea of giving more power to the citizens by allowing us to make the bigger decisions.

Here's today post, part 4.

A good way for Justin to export his anti meat program. And our fedgov loves it. How long until the USDA announces that feral pigs have (the potential to) spread swine flu to vast areas and order mass slaughter of our pork supplies? Wait for it

Nothing a good famine won't cure.

good famine is an oxymoron.

Depends on what side of the equation you are on. If you want to kill lots of people, it has always been a good way to do it, and that does seem to be many of psychopaths' current goal for humanity, at least in part. Or just ask Gaza, there seems to be plenty of people around that thinks such is a good idea there too in part.
