I don't understand the argument against nuclear. It seems like something both sides should agree on. Do people still think that nuclear reactors are unsafe? Doesn't the fact that we have dozens of nuclear powered subs and carriers running around reassure them?

I think more and more Americans from both sides are coming to recognize that nuclear is the "cleanest" (Least polluting) energy option, regardless of carbon dioxide. However, there are trillions of dollars betting on renewable.... Like ethanol, and other boondoggles, it was never about the ecosystem; always about profiteering. Corporatism = fascism.

It really isn't about saving the planet. It's about money. And control. Everything always is.

I remember being in Ireland during the Chernobyl “incident “. We paid some attention to the

Wind direction. Netflix did a great piece on this. However i agree nuclear is the only option other than the old New England practice of bundling. (Sharing beds in the winter).

lol! Bundling will only take you so far. I like bundling wood as an additional option.... :)

A front page headline in today's Burlington Free Press cited Mayor Miro Weinberger's boasting of creating "the most ambitious climate policy in any city", by promoting more heat pump and EV subsidies, etc, to further reduce carbon emissions from home heating and transportation. My immediate reaction was that we are likely going to witness a "Zombie Apocalypse" when the crazy libs suddenly wake up to the reality that this "climate saving" scam is going to be very painful!

"Forgive them Lord for they know not what they do." They know not that they are in Vermont (very cold), or that the Great Depression will surely repeat. They know not that Vermont had 29,000 small dairy farms in 1929 and now has fewer than 600. They know not how to fish, hunt, preserve food, or stay warm with wood. They denigrate the local people and agrarian culture of which they perceive they are so far superior. Ironically, the backwoods natives will do just fine when the Zombies howl, gnash their social justice teeth, and demand we share our food and shelter with them. For they know not the story of the Little Red Hen. "Let them eat heat pumps!"

You have to wonder whether the people who rule are either simply insane or possessed by demons with the policies they have come up with. Or is it as the World Economic Forum tells us that they want to depopulate the world and are doing what they know will accomplish that? Insane or demon possessed or both in my opinion.

Demonically possessed. Please see Dostoevsky, "The Possessed" (aka "The Demons" in other translations....)

"...solar panels and EVs create massive amounts of carbon dioxide pollution in their manufacture, especially in coal-burning...." John, I pick up references to CO2 in your articles as being a negative thing but your stance on everything else seems to be in line with my "confirmation bias". Please can you clarify what YOUR position is on the gas of life? Also, have you watched Climate - The Movie yet. Is just what we need to dispel the nonsense. Thanks

Hoping to watch it soon. My position is that, as a lawyer, I don't need to create bigger hurdles than necessary -- I can prove that these technologies don't deliver on carbon as advertised without challenging the "global warming" narrative. In answer to your question, the globe is measurably warming, but the evidence that it is human-caused is inconclusive, the argument that it threatens imminent disaster is overblown, unscientific, and not even a highly probable outcome according to the Almighty IPCC itself. The benefits of increased CO2 and warming are simply ignored, but this offers cropping to some colder regions, and higher crop yields generally. I hope this is responsive, and thank you for commenting. :)
