Surely most parents in Vermont do not really believe this Marxist propaganda? No loving parent--regardless of party affiliation--wants their little girls to share restroom space with biological males. It always amazes me how quickly people turn over the most prized possessions--their children--to the "professionals." I assume Vermont schools have an elected school board that hires the superintendent? If so, the root of the problem is the school board (although I am sure that state funding for schools complicates it as well). As Tip O'Neill said, "All politics is local." I suspect the grassroots movement in Vermont to end the madness will eventually prevail. Truth and righteousness is always an upward struggle against people who will literally do anything to push their agendas. They will scream and holler but common sense with courage and perseverance will win the day. The one advantage Vermonters have is that it is a small state with a relatively small population making it easier to pressure politicians. And another advantage is articulate people like you willing to speak out. You are in my prayers.
Thanks Mike. Our grassroots movement is pretty paltry, with most parents either approving or oblivious of what is going on in our schools. I fear the schools will fully fail before they correct -- that is, test scores and outcomes so horrible that a majority of the public simply loses trust. It is not easily regained. No wonder Vermont tries to shutter private schools and compel kids into the public school system -- no sane person would put their kids there if they could help it.
The “teaching” colleges were taken over decades ago due to the Left’s understanding that teachers typically have a 1:N relationship away from their parents for 6-7 hours/day, creating an adult employment monopoly.
Private schools used to be a safe avenue for parents to sent their children to avoid the government public indoctrination centers (GPIC) and Leftist teacher unions.
However, the pool of available teachers has been intellectually diluted and corrupted, by design, and is shared between Private and government public indoctrination centers (GPIC) which I refer to as sKools (™).
"The one advantage Vermonters have is that it is a small state with a relatively small population making it easier to pressure politicians."
I disagree. I think the grassroots is far outweighed by Vermont's (largest percentage of) NGO's/non-profits awash in taxpayer dollars and wealthy elite donations, not to mention their corporate lobbyists.
You're probably right but that's a problem everywhere. I was thinking of Vermont in comparison with a big city like Dallas or Houston. Thanks for the reminder.
Excellent piece. Will Zoe Saunders do anything? Can we / you sue them?
The “Education” system stopped being about education a long time ago. We home schooled our two boys 20 years ago because I thought it was bad back then! It was nothing compared to now! They’ve been indoctrinating for a long time. It’s disgusting, outrageous and it needs to STOP!
It's not just education, they double-whammied us with flouride and chlorine to dumb us down and lessen life expectency. They they whammied us with "gender junk," which is as anti-science as it humanly possible. We never had ADD, ADHD and Autism until the jxx's from hell's laboratories.
James Lindsay has illuminating videos discussing how we got here. Of particular impact is the work of Paulo Freire. From a website heralding his work: he was one of the most influential philosophers of education of the twentieth century. He worked wholeheartedly to help people both through his philosophy and his practice of critical pedagogy. A native of Brazil, Freire’s goal was to eradicate illiteracy among people from previously colonized countries and continents. His insights were rooted in the social and political realities of the children and grandchildren of former slaves. His ideas, life, and work served to ameliorate the living conditions of oppressed people." Spoiler alert, it doesn't work.
Or the Declaration of Independence. The Law of Nature and Nature's God refers to government based upon an unchanging moral foundation. It is Natural Law, which is based on Lex non Scripta, or the Law Unchanging. God is our Creator and is the only Author of natural rights, which are inherent in each person, and which cannot be violated by mankind's powers or controls. It gives rise to the ultimate right to alter or destroy the beast that has poisoned, murdered, controlled, stolen from, manipulated and poisoned all of us. We are entitled to be independent and wise thinkers but when the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? Return. Repent. Rebirth. Amen.
For the last 4 years we have had some really sick people running our state and federal government who have also controlled a lot of the news media and schools. The new administration in both have a lot of repairing to do for our country. It is obvious what the people want from our current elections, with President Trump winning both the ballots and popular vote. This gives me great relief and a sense of calm. But it will not end here without people who stand up and speak out against the evils that have become laws.
President Trump and his cabinet will do his part now we have to do ours!
Yes. I believe we have to war as never before. Teach. Reach. Teach. Reach. Wash, Rinse. Repeat. Everywhere. REDEFINE back to Original Roots, God and Government, as the Law of Nature and Nature's God. LONANG. There IS NO Separation of Church and State. Our laws came from the Bible, as orignally documented in the first version of Blackstone's Law, which cited scripture. Like it or not, that is where morality and wisdom both come from. Amen.

Great article and I’d like to add:

Yes, James is awesome! He discusses Freire at length in "The Mortification of Education."
