Soft judges make hardened criminals, is a fair assessment just like spare the rod - spoil the child! Unfortunately there are too many in our judicial systems and our own government's who have moved away from good old common sense. People who have forgotten the religious backbone of this country and what it was founded on, our teachings about morality came from God's words, without God there is no morality which seems to be growing in this country.
In LA, the city council sent a missive that a 'Say their Name' memorial will be created. These people are hard-core Neo-Marxists. I would have written an email of protest but we are completely irrelevant because that is what you get with a Hegelian-type state. We are all just fodder for the machine. Not to be outdone, the County announced they are creating some funds for arrested protestors at UCLA. Why that would be necessary when a public defender is already to be provided by existing laws is beyond me. Like the city council email, I couldn't read through the nonsense. But it is another win for elites for having funds going to kids with checkbook/venmo parents who could pay for private attorneys for their child. My son is in college. I am an ardent First Amendment proponent - the old-fashioned stance of liberals - but if my kid were arrested for graffiti or harassing students, an arrest would be the least of his problems.
