Not to mention the contract the State of NY (or some subsidiary) signed with Chick-Fil-A. Surely the terms would have been spelled out clearly and that expensive lawyers would have gone over it with a fine toothed comb.

Some VDC readers commented that they should be forced to be open on Sundays because it is required to provide service to travelers. Well, then all those rest area businesses should be open 24hours (which they are not, until you get down to the big city) because it is not cost effective.

Just because someone buys a concession area doesn't mean they are required to serve anyone unless it stipulates that fact in the contract and both parties signed.

I tell you Mr. Klar, this is going to be on sh!t show of a year. I hated 2016, and 2020 was soul sucking but this year will top them all. And with so much potential for it to go sideways in a major way. In some respects, I kind of hope it does. A "reset" indeed.

Respectfully,

Pam Baker

Wendel Berry wrote many years ago that humanity's only hope is in its collapse. Perhaps those yearning for socialism and state domination will soon get a dose of what they have created. Tragically, sometimes that is the only way we humans learn anything: repeating the past; trading liberty for a false security; trusting the evil government to do what is "good."

Socialists want to end capitalism. In order to accomplish this they must eliminate Christianity and the nuclear family.

I watched a YT video on a Black minister dismantling the equation that holding views that homosexuality is wrong was the same as having racist views. Quite honestly, I have always had sympathy for this view. However, he believed the real intent was to justify discrimination against traditional Christian tenets. It was a very interesting perspective. The larger issue is the lack of dignity and respect for others' views. I don't attempt to shake the hand of an Orthodox Jewish man because I know it isn't permitted. I am not offended. That is their belief. Under the proposed legislation, would a devout Muslim be forced to sell products they deemed sacrilegious because prospective customers want them? The invasion is endless as current lawsuits against devout Christians have demonstrated.
