Thanks John for another great piece about the threats farmers face in the U.S. and worldwide from the schemes of narrow-minded global interests and multinational corporations that want to strangle farmer profits for their own good.
Just an FYI, on the Obama promise to label GMOs, I'm the one who convinced his ag and environmental team that GMO labeling was a good idea and would help him do better with Iowa farmers and rural residents over John Edwards and Hilary Clinton in the 2008 Iowa caucus.
He made that comment at an event that I organized and I videotaped his speech, please watch here for a reminder: Obama Promises to Label GMOs in Iowa - Nov. 11, 2007.
The fact is, even then I knew what he would be up against in DC if he ever had the chance to do it. The unfortunate reality is the Big Ag and corporations like Monsanto are very powerful in DC -- and I believe the Clintonistas in his administration sabotaged his efforts. More importantly Big Ag and Big Food, including Monsanto spent over $110 million dollars on 4 state ballot initiatives between 2012 and 2014 to silence the will of the people. It was a major battle under the Obama administration that has sadly carried forward to today - as Bayer, which now owns Monsanto and holds all their legal liabilities is desperately trying to rig our nation's laws to protect their own profits, even at the expense of the health of the American public.
Thanks again for all your great writing on this subject -- no matter what happens in DC, we're building the momentum that will overcome their corruption.
I feel a lot of gratitude for all that's happening with Maha and Kennedy. Of course there's push back and things get messy. But I'd much rather see this happening than the alternative of just caving in to destructive practices and letting our Earth and our own health be destroyed.
there is so much to fix here, and one needs to be fast given the still existing 'resistance' to any changes and only 4 years time window. Thank You for this report and great pictures!

I hope you’re right. It would be to our and the earth’s benefit to have chemicals out of our food/earth and minerals in.
Now to stop the spaying of chemicals in our skies(bad) to interfere with the sun(bad).
First class!

John, what is the status of Bovear and Apeel (sp?) in the US? Do you think that Kennedy will ban them?
