I think a thank you should be all that is expected of any American. We are expecting them to do the right thing and I am not really in favor of having to pay them a “thank you contribution” for that responsibility. Frankly, all this money flying all over the place is what has gotten this country into such a mess with its deficit, exposure of fraud and corruption with USAID, etc. etc.

You don't "have to" pay them. But $20.50 is not a significant sum -- it is a token symbol that lets them know that we are grateful, and it is connected directly to that committee vote, which was so pivotal. They will know where it came from just by the amount. I'm sure they are taking huge flack from the pro-vax crowd. I donated to Senator Cassidy. I am not at all a wealthy person, but twenty bucks is a small price for me to pay to say thank you -- and cheaper than flowers!
