Well John, you certainly gave me food for thought. I will certainly consider voting for John R, since I always have admired your 'smarts' and I respect your well thought out opinions here in this write-up. Thanks for getting this out into the public.
I live in Burlington. I will be voting for John even though he has done a terrible job with getting signs here. Throughout Burlington I have only seen a couple of lawn signs. I tried to contact him online and was ignored. Very disappointed he has ignored Burlington.
Well, I see the value in your point of view. I trust you to tell it like it is. I just have a problem with Rodger's farm. I know there are many out there that think cannabis is a fairly harmless herb. Or similar words. But it's not. It has lots of issues for me. I won't go into them here. It is lucrative and I am glad he hasn't had to sell off his farm. But I can't get behind someone who makes his living selling something that I believe, robs people of so many things that they aren't even aware of. Having said that, there are some people who benefit from the very carefully managed medical use of marijuana. Even then, there are some other herbs and practices that could be substituted. This is a long held (45 years) belief based on personal experience with family members and my own clinical practice. I have looked at this carefully and will not change my position. So, I can't get behind Mr. Rodgers and honestly, it has taken me two days to be able to come here and write this. Your opinion and values mean a great deal to me John. So I hope this doesn't offend.
You don't offend. :) As I say, there are issues I don't agree with John about. In the case of his weed growing, I didn't agree it would be profitable -- I'm not sure it is. But I haven't been to John's farm or seen what he grows. My understanding is that he only grows CBD plants, which are medicinal and don't cause addiction. I know many people who use CBD to treat pain -- so if John is only growing CBD and not THC I don't see a moral problem....
You make an important distinction. I read an article where he was joking with the reporter and naming all the cultivars he's growing. This of course, I must confess, is reminiscint of my youth in the 70's and all that baggage that goes with it.
I still have issues with the level of self meditation going on in the US and it disturbs me. Profoundly.
Sorry John. I know nothing about either of the candidates for Lt Governor. I do know about Democrats, possibly more so than you. That is my opinion and here is another: Democrats ALWAYS vote together and advise together. There is nothing more needs to be said on the matter. Vote Republican.
I get it John. I just have a great distrust of ex-Democrats and even though I am supporting Trump for the third time, I do so knowing full well he will only do about 1% of what should be done for America, even though that 1% is important, so is the rest, and of course he used to be a Democrat just a few decades ago. You are in possession of my Blueprint for America. Publish it if you would, with commentary on your Substack!! It will be too extreme for those in Vermont having been infected by the propaganda of the Democrats for so long, but they should hear it. I do not think Trump has full knowledge of what really should be done that centers on the Constitution regarding freedom and liberty matters. I know that you do!!! Our forefathers would have approved 100%. Trump needs to see it. It needs to spread across America like a wildfire and perhaps when people have lost all their freedoms and liberties completely, it will be understood.
Good Sunday morning Quantasee. If John wishes to publish the Blueprint, that would be terrific, He has a copy. I will send him an updated copy this morning. I do not have a Substack. One day I hope to publish the Blueprint. In the meantime, anyone wishing a copy of the Blueprint just send me your e-mail and I will send it to you to read and pass on. Thank you. This is my e-mail:
Your comment about tents reminded me of a statement by secular Jew David Berlinski in his debate with Christopher Hitchens about Christianity. When asked why he argued on behalf of Christians, he responded that it seemed like a big tent where he'd be welcome.
While no fan of Marxism, I can appreciate what propelled his views. Children ages six and up working 14-hour days, a young girl worked to death, etc., etc. They were very pasty white children. It is ironic that the facts that propelled Marx are now skipped in school so they can present false narratives. But, the lies justify the ends.
I have similarly reflected on Dickens' depiction of conditions in industrial England in Hard Times. Vermont School Superintendent Layne Millington is a macabre reincarnation of Gradgrind....
Thanks, John. It's good to get some good advice for change of Lt Gov. DZ has had enough time to show his true colors. ( which ain't good). Vermont for being a blue state keeps showing me more and more conservative, respectable people who are tired of this radical agenda..
Party has been replaced here in Burlington with Progressives
My allegiance now is to the most sensible platforms which for some time now is with conservatives. The ‘flatlanders’ and many native Vermonters don’t seem to realize that their political pursuits are replacing their romantic idea of Vermont with consequences that threaten to completely dissolve this independent and tolerant populace.
Thank you John. I like Gregory too, but Rodgers is the only candidate who has a chance of winning in the general election.

Thank you so much for your kind reply.
I think you should just ask John about it.... I know he is busy but I'm sure he would answer frankly.
Happy birthday John!
:) Thanks!

John is running as a Republican, and stood firmly with us at the Vermont State House in our gun rights battle here....

I would like to see that blueprint, too. Couldn't you publish it? If not here, maybe elsewhere like Vermont Daily Chronicle or your own substack?

Will do.
Maybe others will take you up on your offer and judge for themselves, and generate more commentary.
