Thank you, John. There's definitely Kennedy Derangement Syndrome among the Dem women I know. They are all women who got Covid vaxed and boosted to the max and vaxed their kids every which way. I think they're terrified of discovering the damage they did to themselves and their children. So they demonize Kennedy rather than Fauci. Add to that, Kennedy's mentally ill cousin Caroline's bizarre rants agains him using his name privilege when she's used it herself all her life. Really, does she think she was picked to be an ambassador for any other reason than her name? I also think he enrages them because they're sexually attracted to him.
Thank you John for this summary which must open people's eyes. There is one thing however right now, which starts to worry me, a LOT, and that is what MAHA movement didn't take seriously enough, that continuing effect of 'influencing' politicians, right now of RFK Jr... Here from one substacker who states plainly and clear, what RFK Jr is doing with the 'current measles' outbreak, is completely WRONG:
just wonder do they threaten the politicians to subvert any human reaction.. While listening to this yesterday made me totally speechless, there are living creatures out there who must be questioned in terms of their human origin:
It is common knowledge that the Government has become a catch-all for moderately skilled, lowly ambitioned individuals who fill their days inventing pronouns and then accusing others of being 'bigoted' if they don't use those. That does not mean that all government employees fit into that bucket, but way too many do. Virtually every administration is bloated and so is HHS. The cries about 'essential services' being terminated are largely nonsense. Most funny in this regard I found the calls that 'we will soon no longer be able to predict the weather:'
Yes, meteorologists were being laid off at NOAA. But the division they were in were working on pseudo-science like long-term climate attribution models or the widely discredited 'billion dollar disaster' data base.
It is a good and timely article except for DOGE. The proper way to do things is a RIF, a Reduction In Force. Why do we have cabinet secretaries. Set budget limits, make them relevant given strict percentage reductions for each department, and enforce it...the positions that are most needed will remain but the deadwood goes. Having worked for three years in the Navy Department after military service during a shipbuilding era when ships built in WWII needed replacement, it was not difficult to see this first hand. Efficiency is down to earth not some slash and burn hot shots who know nothing except their tech toys as tools. Coming in beforehand without knowledge and a lot of 'just break it' is about as inefficient and long term damage as you can get. Just imagine if that was some guy from a silicon valley startup showing up at your farm with a laptop and AI and saying the algorithm shows your barn and livestock got to go. You've got a week to close it down. Oh, by the way, tell me 5 things you did this week so I can tell you your farm life is worthless and so are you. (Frankly, that's DOGE)
I agree, though I am hopeful that it is not as willy-nilly as it might appear: that the bad actors and inept see the writing on the wall while those with the right attitudes are encouraged to remain. That certainly appears to be the situation at HHS.
That analogy doesn't fit. I am not an employee of the government, and my barn and livestock were not and are not funded by the government. My effectiveness and success is determined by the marketplace, and would be even more equitable without the never- ending program subsidies dangled by the USDA to control even more of our food supply. The same applies to most other industries.
And FYI, the cabinet secretaries now on board are fully on board with reductions in force. It's the waste and fraud (corruption) that DOGE is revealing that has the uniparty in a panty twist. It's the pirates and parasites that are making all the noise now, since their gravy train is showing. May justice prevail.
O.k. I can agree in part, not the best analogy. But there are definite bad impacts upon farms, farming, and farmers. DOGE is the wrong way, at least as it exists. Their list of waste, fraud, and abuse is very flawed. I will also add that many of the DOGE cuts are plainly haphazard, AI surface based without either direct authority (illegal actually) or competence. The worst aspect of this here is where there is a direct and indirect inefficient loss to farmers themselves. Crop production, sales, confusion as to how to rectify bad surface level 'slash and burn' tech algorithm 'decisions'...There are different challenges with HHS, but one of a number of examples is local and state specific food and nutrition, specific to local programs, some just blindsided. I'll leave it there other than to again say, DOGE is a tech and overreach nightmare, and the right way to do efficient cuts is through strict limits by departments, under cabinet level specifics and a Reduction In Force. Thanks for your comment also.
p.s. I am not a government worker, though I worked under Zumwalt's all volunteer force initiative many year's ago, ship crews and reduction, improved training and efficiency, which lasted. Also significantly smaller crews as a result aboard today's vessels. As to farming, many generations of Vermont and Hudson Valley NY farmers. My wife and I have worked with a local several generation farm family with our land to lease it at a minimum, less than $500 a year, because we know how skilled and dedicated this family is and how hard it has been to keep farming, and do it properly.
I am very interested in seeing how the Union lawsuits play out. Is the executive power vested in the President of the United States and can the Union prevail over his Constitutional given power? Seems pretty clear to me. And I suspect there is a lot of precedence to draw from and doubt the Court needs to be innovative.
Also, I just read today that Kennedy is providing measles vaccines to West Texas. Tucker Carlson interviewed Aaron Siri a while ago and there was a lot of discussion regarding the measles vaccine. Interesting!

I don't know about the sexual attraction thing but I agree wholeheartedly with everything else you say.

Thanks for sharing your insights! NASA too has become a climate/equity farce, undermining its credibility in its core missions....

The ship-jumpers can work as migrant workers to replace all the illegals undermining food supplies.... (Not!)

I don't have boots on the ground but I have shared your fears. Again my hope is that the locals can repair short-term damage....
