Well, the new narrative is that right-wing Republicans are pushing a ban on it to stir up the base. When the fad was wearing clothes from the 80s, I told my kid to wear the attitude that still existed then of 'question everything/question authority.' Now the mantra is to submit to all propaganda. Surreal how the Neo-Marxists came to the conclusion of the problem of hyper-consumerism erasing the individual but their theories ended up accelerating the issue.
Fads are mostly silly. We learn to laugh at ourselves after trying them out! I remember wanting a paper go-go dress when I was about 13. Impractical to sit down in, could only wear once. Ridiculous!
