[A Prefatory note. I do not wish to alienate non-Christians who read my substack to learn about farming, fear-mongering climate fraud, inflation, and other issues. Indeed, I seek allies in a common battle, and truly have always valued and engaged with people of all faiths. I am here republishing a piece about so-called “Christian nationalism” because of the simple, demonstrable fact that America was indeed founded a Judeo-Christian nation with very specific language to secure that very thing. This is not a “belief,” but a fact. One need not be a Christian to see this fact, value this fact, and be grateful for this fact.
In this regard, I wish to preface my article with a few personal observations:
One need not be a Christian to appreciate the Christian “creed.” George Orwell was not a Christian, but he saw the moral value of a nation united behind a common, humane belief system, writing “a false religion is better than none.” I am quite sure that Orwell did not foresee the woke religion of social justice theory, or he would likely have retracted that view. Jefferson famously carried a “Jeffersonian bible” in which he excised verses relating to Christ’s deity, keeping the rest. This offends against CS Lewis’ “trilemma” argument — that Christ was either a liar, lunatic, or Lord — and that He could not be taken simply as a guru without essentially rejecting everything He taught, but it is nevertheless a secular acceptance that loving one’s neighbor, forgiving enemies, and treating all people equally and with equal rights.
This is what I had done in childhood. I was not raised Christian AT ALL. Perhaps because this was so, I always felt a bit left out (but never marginalized or attacked) by songs in public school chorus about a Silent Night, or an impoverished baby Away in a Manger. They were beautiful. So too were patriotic songs like America the Beautiful, the Star-Spangled Banner, and My Country Tis of Thee. The pledge of allegiance was obligatory — under God — but it was a positive, community-building ritual that never troubled me. So, too, I was acutely aware when reading founding documents of Founding Fathers, that God was present. And so even before I was a Christian I was a Christian nationalist in the sense that that phrase simply states a fact, akin to “the sky is blue.”
Now that America’s skies are not blue, liars seek to cancel this indelible history and objective truth, but it would be easier for a man to become a woman and give birth. So I wrote about it for American Thinker, shared below. I have always learned from people smarter than me, whether in science, math, history, religion, or how to make a hay bale or fix the knotter on a square baler (a special gnostic gift there). This article is a testament to that as well as the Old and New Testaments — it incorporates quotes from men far more learned and intelligent than most humans walking today’s shadow-skied planet.
I do not have to apologize for being a Christian — this being America — but I here offer in this preface a brief account (an apologetic?) for how I became one, confidently and in great assurance. My secular life was very successful — good health, a law degree, and relative wealth and future material prospects. Then I lost it all in a flash of untreated Lyme disease that took all of those things in a very short time span. As I began to turn (in agonizing, crippling pain and sleeplessness) to a spiritual search for meaning and relief, I encountered God. AS Carl Jung observed, “I do not believe in God. I know God.” (One of those smart guys I was talking about).
My mother was skeptical of my new-found direction, and observed “In my experience, everyone returns to what they were taught as a child about faith, and if they were raised Christian they became Christian.” Well, she herself seemed to defy that theory, having been raised with some degree of faith, later cast off. But being a critical searcher, and an attorney who always examines both sides of every dispute (lest one be caught with one’s proverbial pants down in a courtroom), I began to research that category of human thinkers who had been staunch atheists but “transitioned” to seeing life not as a material world with no purpose, to a spiritual one composed of infinite miracles.
The names that I studied establish my mother to be grossly mistaken. They also include some very hefty intellects, negating the modern arrogance that condescendingly views Christians as ignorant simpletons. (I highly recommend David Bentley Heart’s “Atheist Delusions: The Christian Revolution and its Fashionable Enemies” for a more thorough rebuttal of this present-day ignorance.)
Let us look at that list of converts….
— “Saint” Augustine was an influential and high-ranking Manichean, who ‘converted’ to orthodox Christianity. His “Confessions” (397-400 AD) is still an amazing and heartfelt read, wherein Augustine distinguishes himself not only by his deep repentance for an errant youth, but by an amzing intellect far ahead of his time.
— CS Lewis was an avowed atheist who became an ardent Christian voice for England during World War Two. He recounts his long intellectual journey to conversion in great detail in “Surprised by Joy.” Interestingly, he was strongly influenced by his fellow Inklings, JRR Tolkien (a devout, lifelong Catholic), and the eccentric, brilliant attorney and philosopher Owen Barfield.
— GK Chesterton. Now here is a gargantuan intellect (as well as a Gargantuan human) who had no interest in Christianity but experienced a radical turnaround after dabbling in the occult. Finding God by meeting the devil at the crossroads at midnight is a risky enterprise, but he survived it. Most don’t. Chesterton is quoted below, where his intellect speaks for itself.
— Evelyn Waugh was a hedonist playboy millionaire for years, one of the most successful and brilliant novelists in English history. His conversion from a dead life of wine and women shocked the Roaring Twenties crowd, but not God.
— TS Eliot was studying Buddhism and ancient Sanskrit at Harvard when he suddenly dropped out and embraced Catholicism. Considered the greatest English poet of all time, this is no intellectual lightweight.
I do not seek theological insight from Carl Sagan or Steven Hawking, any more than I seek to learn physics from Pope Francis. It is silly how people with no knowledge feign mystical knowledge. I have omitted from my short list of brilliant converts the genius of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, who famously said “I would believe in Jesus Christ even if you proved He was not God.” Feodor was a “Jesus or Bust!” kinda Christian. In contrast, Thomas Kempis wrote that “Some people would not believe in Christ even if He were proved true.” Then there is Thomas Aquinas, one of the most brilliant (and humble — see Chesterton’s masterpiece “The Dumb Ox) creatures ever to have walked on two legs.
This is why I make no apologies for my faith — I am in very good intellectual company, augmented by the Holy Spirit. I once again emphasize that one need not be a Christian to fathom and accept that the Christian creed is, without any question, the foundation of this nation. We could also point to Vermont’s Constitution, which to this day (Article 3) states:
“That all persons have a natural and unalienable right, to worship Almighty God, according to the dictates of their own consciences and understandings, as in their opinion shall be regulated by the word of God; and that no person ought to, or of right can be compelled to attend any religious worship, or erect or support any place of worship, or maintain any minister, contrary to the dictates of conscience, nor can any person be justly deprived or abridged of any civil right as a citizen, on account of religious sentiments, or peculia[r] mode of religious worship; and that no authority can, or ought to be vested in, or assumed by, any power whatever, that shall in any case interfere with, or in any manner control the rights of conscience, in the free exercise of religious worship. Nevertheless, every sect or denomination of christians ought to observe the sabbath or Lord’s day, and keep up some sort of religious worship, which to them shall seem most agreeable to the revealed will of God.”
It is hard to cancel that clear history, even for Orwellian would-be tyrants. And so Joe Biden’s deliberate attack this Easter on Christians — vaunting transgender “visibility” above Christ — is an amusing revelation of how correct Chesterton and others were about this nation. Americans did not need help finding the visibility of transgender people: they are being jammed in our faces daily, taunting Scripture (“He created them male and female”) and thus God. But Christ remains in high visibility despite the sniffer’s Satanic schtick. Adding insult as a cherry on top of his demonic reign, Biden banned veterans’ children from entering Christian Easter eggs in the White House competition in the name of preventing bigotry against religious beliefs!
As an attorney, I must reassert what I have previously documented with case law and citations — this is a direct transgression against the Establishment Clause of the US Constitution. Biden has saturated every level of government with a corrupt, vile, anti-Christian woke theology that weaponizes climate, gender, gender preferences, race, and fear-porn gain-of-function disease into a woke cult of hate and division. One need not be a Christian to see that America has fallen, and has far more to plunge.
Fortunately, He is Risen. The work of Christ was finished at the Cross 2,000 years ago, as so many millions of intelligent minds and souls have discovered. That is the Good News, but very bad news for Biden, Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates, and other self-worshipping Narcissists. Biden seeks to provoke Christians to anger, so that he can launch the once-godly US government against the “greatest threat to democracy” in Christian nationalists. Since he cannot possibly win a fair election, or maybe even a rigged one, he will likely declare martial law to — you know — prevent Donald Trump from declaring martial law.
The Father of Lies is visibly at work, and Biden is gearing up to commit genocide against America’s Christians. I say “Molon Labe!” Jesus Christ is a Mighty Adversary, and no one knows that better than Satan, who is already toast.

Good (Christian Nationalist) Friday
Good Friday this year is an important opportunity to reflect not just on what Jesus Christ accomplished at Calvary, but the many sacrifices that enabled Americans to enjoy the benefits of U.S. citizenship and the “exceptionalism” that non-canceled history and the founding documents of the nation display clearly.
For Christians, Christmas celebrates the birth of humanity’s savior. Good Friday commemorates the central event in the history of Christianity and Western civilization: the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan for humanity, when that baby savior grew to manhood and was publicly misjudged, tortured, and crucified, and then rose again. This horrific tragedy had a silver, awe-inspiring “Good News” lining: Christ conquered not just physical death, but also human sin.
The New Woke Religion
Christ-hating atheists who place their faith in laughable “real science” embrace a fantastical alternative “faith” in unseen and never scientifically proven Big Bangs and spontaneous incarnation of life from not an omnipotent Designer, but a lifeless mud puddle. C.S. Lewis observed that believing in the Bible may be crazy, but it is much crazier to embrace this alternative faith — and it most certainly is not based in scientific fact. It is “theoretical,” like Critical Race Theory, Gender Theory, Queer Theory, and Climate Warming Theory. These poor souls believe in things unseen — just not in the human soul.
This New Age deluded religion has usurped all others, in direct derogation of the First Amendment. Social/climate “justice” unjustly prohibits alternative views as misinformation because it cannot survive the light of truth and critical analysis. This intolerant, demonic cult parades as loving while crushing all individual liberties that dare cross its path.
This directly offends the First Amendment, as well as most state constitutions safeguarding religious liberty. It is now the Established Church of the Christ-Hating Age, swapping equality for racist equity, free speech for compelled pronouns and stifling of dissent, equal protections for regressive “equity,” and love of country with hate for everything.
The cross of Christ, celebrated joyfully this day, is the path to rescue the Bill Gateses and Klaus Schwabs of the world — and the nation — from their cognitive dissonance. They hiss at “Christian nationalism” because it is such an obvious fact, and because it dares to claim that men are men and women are women — assigned chromosomally by God (ACBG) at birth. It claims that abortion of viable human babies, to be left screaming on a gleaming, sterilized table, is a barbaric abomination (an inconvenient truth clearly acknowledged even by the vaunted unholy scrolls of Roe v. Wade). It questions the morality of “same-sex” unions. It is anathema to the Establishment of Woke Theocracy.
Real Christian Nationalism
Today, Americans are told the greatest threat to their nation is “Christian nationalism.” Yet these lies can never for a moment tarnish the truth of what transpired at the center of history: God became man, to die for man. This radical atonement is taken for granted by those who slander Christ yet enjoy the exceptional benefits of equality and human liberty that were achieved through His death...on Good Friday.
This nation is covenantal, a unique pact between God and the young American nation: the fact of Christian nationalism. It infused the faith of Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King, Jr. It championed the Declaration of Independence:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. ... And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
This Declaration is itself a direct consequence of Good Friday, that radical intersectionality of Christ the man-god on a rugged cross — justice tempered by grace.
The Threat of Anti-Christ
Writer and philosopher Oz Guinness describes the fundamental tenets embraced by America’s founders as a triangle, or three-legged stool, constructed upon freedom, faith, and virtue. Without freedom of faith, there can be no virtue, without which there can be no freedom, and so on.
All three of these foundational legs are being kicked at, viciously, by those who must be forgiven, for they know not what they do. (That’s Jesus’s appeal to the Father on behalf of those who had crucified Him — Luke 23:34). Should they succeed in their anti-Christian crusade, America’s anarchists and history-cancelers will devour themselves and the nation in the demonic bargain.
GK Chesterton was amazed when he visited U.S. shores, proclaiming in What I Saw in America:
The Declaration of Independence dogmatically bases all rights on the fact that God created all men equal; and it is right; for if they were not created equal, they were certainly evolved unequal. There is no basis for democracy except in a dogma about the divine origin of man. That is a perfectly simple fact which the modern world will find out more and more to be a fact. Every other basis is a sort of sentimental confusion, full of merely verbal echoes of the older creeds. Those verbal associations are always vain for the vital purpose of constraining the tyrant.
Chesterton predicted that if America ever abandoned this creed, it would dissolve the covenantal cement that had bound it together. As Christians celebrate this Good Friday of gratitude and humility before their Creator, they do well to reflect not only upon their own sin, paid for by Christ at the cross, but the collective sin of their increasingly unstable and violent nation. Chesterton warned boldly in 1922:
It would be the worst sort of insincerity ... to conclude even so hazy an outline of so great and majestic a matter as the American democratic experiment, without testifying my belief that to this also the same ultimate test will come. So far as that democracy becomes or remains Catholic and Christian, that democracy will remain democratic. In so far as it does not, it will become wildly and wickedly undemocratic. Its rich will riot with a brutal indifference far beyond the feeble feudalism which retains some shadow of responsibility or at least of patronage. Its wage-slaves will either sink into heathen slavery, or seek relief in theories that are destructive not merely in method but in aim; since they are but the negations of the human appetite of property and personality.
Let Us Pray
Let us pray that Chesterton’s prophecy may be avoided, that the pre-eminence and truth of Christian nationalism will prevail, and that America will spare itself from the consequences of rejecting so noble and great a heritage in favor of lies, hatred, and endless retribution. Social justice is not biblical justice. It contains no mercy.
