I was born and raised in Vermont, and well remember the Green Peace activists who followed my husband through the woods barking like dogs during deer season. They followed him to his car and then smiled and asked how his day was going? My husband smiled back and said fine, got in his car and came home. At that time they didn't like hunting, they are still bullies that try to intimidate anyone who doesn't conform to their believes. But where are they now when it comes to off-shore windmills that beach whales? Silent, hyprocrites who are probably getting kickbacks!
To correctly understand Greenpeace you must go back to its founding. Patrick Moore (PHD in ecology) started it in a church basement in British Columbia. He’s written several books , his first was titled “trees are the answer”. I read it when I was in Forestry school back in the 1970’s. He details how the organization he founded was only meant to keep the logging and mining industries from wasteful and preventable pollution (tailings leaching into rivers, logging next to sensitive wetlands etc) and always wanted to “work himself out of a job” to standardize industry best practices as a legal requirement before any permits were issued. And it worked for a while. Then several zealots in the group realized a comfortable living could be made through lawfare (extortion) by threatening/ suing big companies in perpetuity for every new project. Pay to play as it were. And they’ve been very successful. When Patrick resisted they forced him out and he’s written extensively about it over the years. Green peace hates him because he exposed them for what they are. I hope this lawsuit bankrupt’s them.

This brings to mind the recent 'mischief' verdict against the Canadian freedom organizers, which I find has some parallels.
