these stories are truly freighting to read about. How the justice system is perverted and corrupt. How if fails to provide justice or equal treatment under the law. Its become as untrustworthy as the medical industry was shown to be during COVID

Sadly, I agree. Every aspect of our government is being corrupted and destroyed. I fear it ends very badly, and very soon.

The squatter issue interests me because I think it's going to become quite common in the next few years. We have a house in my small community that has been empty for the past 22 years except when squatters have taken up residence there.

The first squatter was a single guy. He had worked for the owner of the house in another state. When he moved in, he immediately started pursuing landscaping and home handyman work in the neighborhood. His prices were reasonable, so his residency in the house was widely supported until he started pursuing a young woman who worked in the local small grocery store. She sought help from some of the leaders of the community and the man was told to leave town.

Now we have a young couple squatting in the house. They have been living there for a few years now and are well-liked because they take good care of the house and yard and help out on park clean-up day, etc.

That's all well and good.... but it's still trespassing and if the owner tells them to leave and they fight it, that is theft. It's easy to find out who the owner is and inquire about renting it. In your case - why didn't any locals contact the owner to let them know what was going on?

Crime is now rewarded, everyone fudging and seeing only gray to justify their actions, rather than right and wrong, black and white. Next, car thieves will be getting away with claiming the car was abandoned and therefore free for the taking.

There are clear laws in all jurisdictions that afford rights to owners. Most all states require a prescriptive period of adverse possession (which must be open and visible) of either 15 or 20 years -- plenty of time for an owner to reclaim an abandoned property....

Well, cases like that are why squatters' rights were created -- better to have someone take over an abandoned property than permit waste. But NYC and others have taken it too far, much like tenants' rights and decriminalization. The pendulum swings.....

I wish the GOP would’ve “saddled another hoss” besides Trump. It may have spurred some democrats to snap out of their TDS and see how Biden is purposely destroying our nation.

I agree. I was saying to my wife yesterday that the main reason many people blindly support Biden is their fanatical fear of Trump. The fear is misplaced, yet effective to close minds....

The closer we get to the election, the less I like Trump. His namby-pamby behavior surrounding the covid con and the 2020 election fraud make me think he's a crappy leader and a worse delegator. What if the two sides are in on it together?

I have heard many people suggest that. I certainly hope not, but his support for the shots was worrisome. I do believe the powers that be seed division and have long played both sides. But somehow I think Trump wasn't part of their plan, and even exposed them.....
