WHERE DO YOU PUT THE EVIL BIO HAZARDOUS BATTERY ACID THAT KEEPS ? ACID IS NOT GREEN

It creates more toxins to recycle the batteries, regardless of the method used. Then there are landfills.... Carbon dioxide doesn't leach into groundwater and make people sick.....

Here’s the thing…the EV is the latest rendition of an OLD technology (like 100 years old). What has changed is battery technology but we don’t have the material nor capacity to meet the so called green objectives. Methinks the internal combustion engine has many years of future use. In particular, the Japanese (I believe Honda) has developed a working prototype of an engine that runs on hydrogen. The only byproducts are energy and water. This makes a lot more sense. Pax

Think nuclear power plants … another green energy

Yes. Nuclear energy is likely the best source to make hydrogen, which indeed burns clean, and no lithium/cobalt/nickel required.....

"we don’t have the material nor capacity to meet the so called green objectives" Yup.

The problem with hydrogen is that it is a molecular storage unit, not a harvestable energy source. Even is created efficiently, it still needs an outside source for its creation -- solar, fossil fuels? Thanks for commenting!

Our family now has an EV - I didn't lease it but do drive it. It drives like a dream but I am no fool, that dream comes with real costs. I can tell it is much heavier so it seems only logical that more wear and tear on the roads will come and new tires will be needed in the near future. Meanwhile, they continue to put asphalt on the roads. This is done while our governor swears at big oil as the boogieman for our heat waves. I am no scientist, but why would we be putting down asphalt instead of concrete if worried about climate change?

Concrete is also a huge GHG emitter.... Mud is green, and less rubber particulates are emitted when EVs are mired in spring road ruts..... lol

All the EV's should be mired in the mud in mud season! These vehicles are all flash and no real substance! The battery technology has not been tested long enough to be a viable solution. All the people that think EV's are 'green', haven't done their homework. The average lifespan of the person who works in a lithium mine is 30 years. How's that to keep in your conscience! ( if you even care!) EV's do not do well in cold climates. When a boasted claim of 240 miles to a charge is made, that is an advertising ploy. That 240 turns into about 80 miles in Vermont winters due to the cold machinery, heating the interior and running the lights. When I visit family in NJ, I am amazed how many more per capita Teslas there are. It's a big ego trip down there. Lots of money and they want to let you know what they have! I escaped there 20+ years ago.....Hybrid cars make more sense today until the technology of full electric is truly viable. The hydrogen technology can be adapted to the internal combustion engine. The main problem, I believe is agenda, big oil and the control mechanisms in place. Status quo is what is desired by those in power......

Oh... I forgot....every car that runs on hydrogen becomes an environment cleaner but there isn't any money to be made on vehicles that run on water.... Very comparable to trying to put an electric meter on the sun!!
