Re: Carmen Longoria-Green.

Never trust anyone with a hyphenated name without thorough vetting.

With that out of the way, I have noticed the home schooled kids aren't driven away from their roots nearly as much as the government run versions, probably due to not being coerced, cajoled and encouraged by teachers and so called guidance counselors to "leave here because there's nothing here for you".

I've often thought that these teachers are scared that the kids will come back and take their jobs, at least it sometimes seems that way.

I graduated in 1972. At that time I could see the cliquish nature of the school employees to the point that they kind of looked down on anybody that didn't go on to college, especially me with a fairly high IQ. I did go on to college, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Hard Knocks as an independent extended distance transportation forwarding expert (long haul truck driver).

As a resident of the failed state of Illinois I have a front row seat. I have grandchildren that their mother has decided since Covid to homeschool them. She is not very capable and hate school herself. I now have a 6 yr old granddaughter that cannot read cannot speak in a way you can understand her. Even her parents have difficulty in interpreting what she is trying to say. So home schooling isn’t the answer for everyone yet the Illinois school systems have horrible outcomes. How did we come to this???
