The Beauty of Substack is that it offers a growing forum for Americans to free themselves from the stifling false narratives of a failed media. Substack is not the only platform doing this, but it is forging a new world of free speech and education by unfettering writers from a co-opted national and local media.
I’m a Walter Cronkite and Roger Mudd guy. You know, Bob Woodward and Watergate: the journalistic tail wagging the establishment dog; the hero investigator who unearths the truth untainted by personal ideology; the creed of presenting both sides to every issue while aspiring to press one’s personal views into the background.
That is not America today. Watergate was a tame blip in political perfidy compared to the fake news of Russia-Trump collusion and the Steele Dossier. Hunter Biden’s laptop appears to have been real after all, but a coordinated effort by an Orwellian phalanx of big media liars worked unethically and assiduously to engage in blatant propaganda. This is the opposite of what used to be defined as journalism.
Orwellian Times
The government actively violated basic First Amendment liberties in the COVID narrative (a bevy of lies about origin, effectiveness, natural immunity, alternative therapies, and safety – how can any sane human swallow so much guff in one go?). Policing social media for “disinformation,” the government conspired with the pharmaceutical industry to concoct one of the largest disinformation campaigns in human history.
We are at the precipice of the end of America as the world has known her, and the loss of everything this nation has ever built, because of a failed media and a failure of the citizenry to stay informed. And the pivotal battle is not for guns or voting rights, but simply for the power and liberty to speak freely. (Well, there’s also food, as this newsletter often observes).
The 2016 Democratic Primary was unethically thieved from Bernie Sanders by the Clinton Clan, and barely a peep of objection was heard. But when the Biden/Harris criminal enterprise attempted the same against Robert F. Kennedy, and enlisted the increasingly uncredible MSM as allies, Kennedy stepped above them to the alternative world of true media: interviews with critical thinkers who ask tough questions, such as Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson, and Russell Brand.
Now Substack
This is where Substack and similar venues become vital.
Increasingly, Americans awakening to the Big Lie program seek truth and authenticity. Just as Kennedy turned to alternative media, more and more people are getting their information not from talking heads in the MSM who have demonstrated how shallow and pathetically corrupted they have become, but from writers of integrity who dare risk retaliation to spread truth to combat government lies. Substack is a goldmine from which to harvest truth and authenticity, and to spread it like wildfire to others who seek truth.
I increasingly get my news second-hand, from Substack authors. They are out there digging and researching 24 hours daily, using their academic disciplines, experience, connections, and geographical location to oppose the Big Liars of MSM and the Federal Government. I have learned to greatly trust and admire a collection of these writers, even where I (refreshingly?) disagree with them.
The eclectic and intense collection of research and deep critical thought available only on Substack is broad, and so I dare not even attempt to list some favorites for risk of excluding anyone. There is a seemingly endless library of talented writers with diverse viewpoints here, displaying a diversity of skills, views, and subject areas. There is nothing even approaching this array of critical thought in today’s mainstream media, because the MSM is utterly compromised.
Tucker Carlson’s firing showed that even the most popular of MSM television personalities is subject to constant censorship by networks or their (Big Pharma?) advertisers. Dave Chappelle appears traumatized by contracts that deprived him of freedom and self-ownership: but it is clear that no human gets to work in that industry and still own themself, whether black or white, male or female, rich or poor.
Substack presents a completely different platform: an Underground where even crazy voices can express themselves. As a writer, I can experiment here with style, content, length, delivery, and even additional media like audio, video, and photographs. What I create is personalized, authentic, and creatively liberated: I can make mistakes freely as well, and be corrected or educated by the responsive comments of readers, or by other writers. Increasingly, Substack is becoming an escapist community for free thinkers. It represents a growing recoil against the global and federal tyranny unfolding before our eyes.
I here praise Substack and its creators, but also its readers and writers. Whatever the subject, the intense and intelligent content that floods through the Substack platform daily is an invaluable gift; a life raft of sanity and free thought adrift in a world gone mad with MSM malarkey. I am hooked, and excited at the tremendous opportunity this presents to escape the dark totalitarianism that no longer hides.
And so, I say to all patriots and living minds: to arms! Arm yourselves with this panoply of intense and gifted writers; persuade loved ones and friends to read particular articles or explore Substack more fully. The platform is growing steadily: a hope in itself.
Spread the word: Let us not go quietly into that dark MSM night. Let us speak truth to lies, and gird ourselves with free speech, and the courage to preserve it!
Yes, substack is a true blessing. Your photos here show a newly inspired writer, but I must comment on the first photo of you and the pooch in the car. You both might be looking at the lovely Jackie with a guilty teenage look of - oops, my mischief has been found out. Ha! It just struck me as such. So many of us are now refreshed with boatloads of truth coming to the surface and proving us correct in our gut feelings of what is true and opposed to MSM. Keep freeing your thoughts!!
Nicely put, and I agree -- so many interesting and intelligent disclosures and perspectives on a variety of topics, and angles within those topics. Your writing tends to cover many subjects that cross over into others that correlate with my interests. I subscribe to so many, I can't keep up with them all.
