I sent excerpts from gender queer and a few other disgusting books to my congressmen senators and governor. I asked them to read the books outloud to their grandchildren or even their adult children, to share the cartoon drawings of children having sex with adult men. I challenged them to let me know how it went and if they still believed these books should be available to children. I also reminded them I would share their responses far and wide and let the voting public know their stance on the issues. I received several responses. Only one from a local board started with " I don't think anyone can disagree " and ended with" I don't believe in banning books"

Now I am not dumb enough to believe my letters were responsible, but rather enough concerned citizens probably complained loudly. I do however believe that many of the people supporting this rot have never opened one of these books and waive off criticism as radical right propaganda and Trans hatred from Christian bigots. Seeing it with my own eyes was sickening and shocking. I think most people would agree. I would also point out that the depictions are necessarily cartoon drawings because actual photographs of the acts are illegal under child pornography laws and because the books are not aimed at adults as claimed, but at a child audience.Even the font has a large cartoonish look.

End result : state law requiring these books to be kept in an adult only section, anyone can submit a request for review of the book which must occur within 30 days and if found to have inappropriate material in it, moved to the adult access area. NOWHERE IN THE BILL IS THE WORD" BANNED. " A librarian providing these books to a child can be sued by the parent for $250 per offense.

Of course this offended the purple haired moms, so they protested about book banning( false) and made numerous requests to remove the Bible from the libraries. Librarians stated they did not have the time to review said books and could not ensure they were in the right areas, so they would no longer allow unaccompanied children under 18 into the library, punishing the very children whose rights they said they were fighting for to keep the materials available.

I want them to imagine if a homeless man came by the bus stop and started taking to their child about the joys of anal sex or fallatio and pulled some drawings depicting said acts out of his pocket to share with them. Would they find the kind man just to be educating their kid? And would it be wrong if the kid was a kindergarten and OK if it was their 18 year old daughter? Or would they have the man locked up for indecency and providing pornographic materials to a minor? These are real and enforceable crimes and Librarians should not be immune under the guise of your child's freedom. In a day and age where you scan a card to get a discount on your groceries and reams of private data about you is contained in that card, there is no excuse that a library card cannot be encoded with access restrictions to a cordoned area or to contain parental consent/ refusal to check out these materials. Or to track offending librarians. Anyone working in a library with access to children must be fingerprinted and screened like day care workers nurses and others with unimpeded access to children.

Sorry for the rant. We must protect our children from those that would prey on them. This has gone on too long and is too subversive. It's time to shine a light on those hiding in our kids world.
